Here's my list of Top 10 Celebrity Hot Chicks for October 2005.  This list is not a cumulative thing - after all, there wouldn't be much run for you the reader if Laetitia Casta, Madonna and Angelina Jolie were ranked number 1,2 and 3 every month for the next year.  So I've decided to add some variety to this list by having the simple rule that no single celebrity can appear on this list more than once every six months. Also, not only am I doing this list as a way to indulge myself, but also to turn you on to actresses, singers and other personalities you might not have heard of.  So... enjoy the list!

If "aging gracefully' ever needed a poster child, Catherine Deneuve is it. I swear, it's like the woman got to age 30 and just stopped aging altogether. Sadly, it's only been in the past couple of years that the signs of age have come to Catherine, and they seem to be coming on full-force. I can't tell if it's because she was so perfect you never noticed blemishes before, or because God has some weird karma thing against perfect skin. Oh well - no matter. She's about to celebrate her 62nd birthday and still looks fabulous. Plus, she's not into plastic surgery (or can hire plastic surgeons so good that we can't notice), so that gets a big thumbs-up from me.

Italian überhottie Monica Bellucci has been in almost 50 films and TV productions (not to mention countless fashion magazine covers in Europe), but Americans know her primarily for her role as Persephone in the last two films of the Matrix trilogy... or should I say that "Americans know her primarily for her impossibly tight costumes in the last two films of the Matrix trilogy". She recently had a baby and appeared (tastefully) naked in a European magazine (ala Demi Moore)... Even when she's 9 month's pregnant she's a knockout! 

Guys are kind of schizophrenic when it comes to women in that we sometimes like chicks that dress all slutty, yet we also like girls that keep the goods hidden. Kelly Rutherford is one of the latter - I swear most of her roles (with the notable exception of Melrose Place) involve period clothing or military uniforms, so one rarely gets a look at her body - which isn't "Hollywood perfect" but is quite tasty all the same (Exhibit A). I dunno, Kelly just looks sweet, like she'd kiss my boo-boos if I fell off my bike or something. She's soothing.

In the beginning, there was Jane Pauley. And it was good. And then there was Paula Zahn, and that was also good. And then there was Laurie Dhue, and that too was also good. Whilst flipping the zapper during the Hurricane Katrina coverage I came across Contessa Brewer - my newest "news babe", and the first brunette news babe since circa 1982-1983 Linda Ellerbee (did SHE go downhill or what?). You can find Contessa on MSNBC in the afternoons. (Please note: her picture is kind of "meh")

You know what's sexy? A woman that's well-educated, speaks four languages, grew up in the George V Hotel in Paris and has been all over the globe, experiencing all the world's cultures. You know what's even sexier than that? A woman that has all of the above and a nice rack! Nilou Motamed is one of those women. She's a senior editor at Travel + Leisure magazine, and regularly appears on CNN, VH1, CBS and CNBC and the Travel Channel's Travel Spies show. Forgive the awful picture I found of her - she's really quite beautiful.

Ever seen Shaikra dance? 'Nuff said. This girl - who's been around for ages in the Latin American music scene - has had as many "looks" as Madonna: long red hair, short brown hair, platinum blonde... But I like her new look - blonde, but not nearly as "big" and curly as she was during her Laundry Service era. You know what else is cool about Shakira? She writes and produces her own albums, not to mention playing many instruments on them too. Take THAT, Jessica Simpson!

You know what I like about Mary Louise Parker? The fact that she's sort of chameleon-like. In her new show Weeds, she plays a suburban housewife (again, playing to my recent "mommy fetish"), yet she could also play the "late 20s unattached girl at the club" hottie too. She's pretty but attainable, and that's hot in and of itself. Another thing I like about MLP is that she's not Jennifer Jason Leigh, who has been in far too many downer flicks to count. Can that damn woman do a comedy every now and then... please?

Charlize Theron (cool name, BTW) is kind of hot, although I wish she'd keep that South African accent instead of going for the Midwestern American one. She's pretty, yes, but what I like most about her is that (given the chance) she can actually act. Did you see her portray Aileen Wuornos in Monster? It's hard to imagine that beautiful face underneath all that makeup (not to mention psychosis). Sadly, although she has a world-class ass, Charlize is currently fighting Kate Hudson for chairmanship of the "Itty Bitty Titty Committee".

Like most teenagers in the mid to late 1980s, the first time I saw Virginia Madsen (which was actually in the movie Class, but I didn't realize that until after I'd seen Slam Dance) I said "Daaaaaammmmnn!" I actually saw Slam Dance again not too long ago, but saw Sideways last weekend. And you know what? I'll take the older Virginia, thanks. All my life I've been chasing (and catching!) younger women - this sudden preference for the older babes is somewhat alarming. What can I say? Crows' feet turn me on.

Yes, yes, yes... Mandy Moore is on my list. Shoot me, OK? I dunno - of all the current teenybop crowd (and I'm including Britney, Christina, Jessica, Lindsay and Hilary in this list), Mandy Moore is pretty, sweet, perky, level-headed and someone I wouldn't be ashamed to bring home to Mom & Dad - unlike Hohan, who'd hit on my Dad for crack money. To be honest though, although I *do* like her, I just kind of threw her on this list to knock the "average age" of the women on this list down to 32... or something.
